Pia

The artist book “Pia” consists of painted figurative elements as well as printed, cut and torn structures. In this artist book, both insights and perspectives on figurative works are offered. The alternation of transparency and non-transparency in these multi-layered collages arouses interest in the visible and the invisible. Especially the not directly visible is supposed to stimulate the imagination.

Every time a page of the book is turned, the viewer not only has a sequentially new insight into the double page that is opened. The partially transparent structures also open up new perspectives on the deeper lying areas of the book, both to the left and to the right.

The interwoven structures of the book creates a connection between the individual pages and at the same time serve as a physical support structure. Cross-page collage elements visually connect the individual elements and at the same time hold the individual pages together to form a book structure. In the artist book “Pia” the figures move around different folding axes and thus open up dynamic dance perspectives.
