An experimental, creative development process can transform a suitable digital photograph from a good base photo into a work of art. My approach involves digital experimentation based on digitally created photographs.
In the digital collages, various figurative and formal elements are rearranged, painterly connected, and brought into interaction with one another. The images used in the collages often result from a symbiosis of photography and digital painting. For this, the individual elements were painstakingly processed with digital painting techniques before being digitally composed into a collage. The viewer is thus offered the opportunity to continually discover new details and aspects in the interaction of the elements.
Digital photography not only allows you to quickly capture many impressions. The exciting thing about digital art is the ability to creatively generate new impressions. For me, the artistic process doesn’t end with pressing the shutter button. Selected works of digital photography provide me with the foundation for experimental photography.
Black and white photography is a special category indeed. Less is sometimes more. Black and white photography, as a reduction to brightness, darkness, contrast, light and shadow, has a very special fascination.
