Wolfgang Kühn presents works that go far beyond conventional photography. Even in the age of mobile phone photography, photography offers an artistic medium that, through modern digital possibilities, gains a broad spectrum of artistic creativity.
The installation Cross-Modal-Interference-Pattern combines photographic work with the technical processing of metallic materials. Dynamic wave structures, captured on the outer hybrids on the beach of Barra, are projected onto technically generated interference patterns using digital projection. In the installation, the photographically captured natural waves and the technical vibrations on the offset printing plates interact in a crossover effect to create new, dynamic interference patterns.
