The artist book “Insights and Deep Views” consists of multi-layered collages of painted figurative elements and spatial structures, as well as printed, cut and torn structures. It offers both insights and perspectives on figurative works. The change from transparency to non-transparency arouses interest in the visible and the invisible. It is precisely that which is not directly visible, but can be guessed at, that is supposed to stimulate the imagination.
Every time a page of the book is turned, the viewer not only has a sequentially new insight into the double page that is opened. The partially transparent structures also open up new perspectives on the deeper lying areas of the book, both to the left and to the right. The interwoven structures of the books create a connection between the individual pages and at the same time serve as a physical support structure. Cross-page collage elements visually connect the individual elements and at the same time hold the individual pages together to form a book structure.
The first part of the artist book “Insights and deep Views” is separated from the second by geometric spatial structures. At the same time these structures connect the book areas via a perspective. The perspectives encourage the viewer to see what new insights open up on the next level. The following shows the front and back covers as well as the individual insights.
